Each of the submarines had the capacity to transport about two tons of narcotics through the Caquetá and Putumayo rivers. They had the purpose of reaching Nariño or Ecuador, and from there continue to the Pacific.
Troops of the Operational Command Jupiter, through the Ground Operations Battalion No.22, in a joint operation with the National Navy and the Colombian Air Force, in development of Operation José Inocencio Chincá, focused on attacking drug trafficking, seized two submarines apparently belonging to the Residual Organized Armed Group (GAO-r) Estructura Míller Perdomo.
This result occurred in the village of Tres Islas, in the municipality of Solano, Caquetá, after troops gained information of military intelligence, with the support of the network of civic participation, which indicated that in the sector there were two submarines used to transport cocaine by the rivers Caquetá and Putumayo, intended to reach the department of Nariño, or move on to Ecuadorian territory, and seek the Pacific.
According to military intelligence, the two seized submarines would be under the coordination of the individual known with the alias of Dúver, financial ringleader of this structure who was neutralized in military operations last November 20, in the border of Caquetá and Putumayo.
Thanks to the continuous operations carried out by The Sixth Division in the Colombian Amazon, the residual organized armed groups have received heavy blows not only in their armed structures, but also in their logistics, weakening the sources of financing of outlaw organizations that generate insecurity in civilian population.
