In the framework of the interoperability strengthening conducted by the two Institutions, in order to preserve the bonds of brotherhood and cooperation of the Colombian Navy and the United States Navy Infantry, Vice Admiral Ricardo Hurtado Chacón, Second Commander of the Colombian Navy and Chief of Naval Staff, and Lieutenant General David Gerard Bellon, Commander of the Navy Infantry of the United States Southern Command had a meeting.
The ties built with the transit of the years have led to learn and train the troops of both countries jointly and reciprocally, according to what the US officer said.
In the framework of this visit, the military ceremony presided by Vice Admiral Ricardo Hurtado Chacón was held, in which Lieutenant General David Gerard Bellon was decorated with the military medal Distinguished Services to the Navy Infantry.
This medal is awarded to military or civilian personnel, institutions or official institutions or individuals, national or foreign, who have outstanding served to the Colombian Navy Infantry.
