Santander. With about 40 entrepreneurs of the municipality of San Vicente de Chucurí and neighboring hamlets, the First Institutional Fair of Community Entrepreneurs organized by the Fifth Brigade of the National Army, of the Second Division, under the program “Fe in Colombia - Passion Santander”, was held with great success
The event that counted on the support of the Municipal Mayor of San Vicente de Chucurí and the Chamber of Commerce of Barrancabermeja, led to strengthen commercial ties between the farmers of this region and the department's wholesale centers.
More than 40 entrepreneurs had the opportunity to show their products, such as cocoa derivatives, avocados, dairy products, citrus fruits, handicrafts, among others, to the representatives of more than five companies and merchant chains that accepted the invitation and arrived with their portfolio to strengthen commercial links by more than 300 million pesos.
This activity benefited nearly 800 inhabitants, who provide, directly and without intermediaries, the result of their effort and dedication to cultivating these prosperous lands in Chucuri, as well as several families, representatives and associations of victims of the armed conflict. They highlighted this institutional fair as a mean of transformation and key to improve their quality of life and project a better future.
San Vicente de Chucurí was a few years ago the epicenter of the armed conflict but now, “Faith in Colombia Pasión Santander,” arrives to bring progress to the communities, visitors and victims of the conflict, where the National Army is an essential articulator to guarantee the institutional presence and build spaces for the community entrepreneurs, State and private company.
