New emergency humanitarian aid to meet the basic food needs of vulnerable families in the municipality of Uribe, Meta, was transported by the crews of the Air Combat Command No.2, CACOM2, of the Colombian Air Force, who in two helicopter flights, from the village of Apiay, carried 227 food baskets.
The 2837 kilograms of food kits that are made up of 18 products of the family basket were transported under the program: Colombia is with you: one million families, which is led by the Ministry of the Interior and managed through the Social Secretary of the Government of Meta to mitigate the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
These baskets of food were received with all the biosecurity measures and hygiene in the CACOM2 by Officers, non-commissioned Officers and Soldiers, who immediately made arrangements for the mission and load the helicopter with all of the precursors that will support the essential needs of the families in Uribe.
The transported provisions landed in the Infantry Battalion No. 29 General Germán Ocampo Herrera of the National Army so that the local administration can receive the precursors for their subsequent distribution to the families of this municipality 191 kilometers of the llanera capital city.
