In development of military operation Osiris, troops of the Sixth Division, The Air Assault Aviation Division, The Transnational Threat Deployment Force and the Special Forces Battalion no.2, of the National Army, jointly with the Colombian Air Force, and inter-agency with the Attorney General's office, engaged a firefight with terrorists of the residual organized armed group, Gao-r, Carolina Ramírez structure, in the Cabildo Alto del Mango village, Puerto Guzman municipality, in El Putumayo.
The operation was carried out thanks to information provided by military intelligence, which detected the presence of suspicious people in that sector and a follow-up that had been carried out since November 2019 when alias Iván Mordisco had sent him to take control of drug trafficking routes in the zone.
Immediately, they informed the troops of the Twenty-Seventh Brigade and the detachments of the Special Forces, who after 23 kilometers of night infiltration and more than 15 days of insertion in the depths of the jungle, find the target who at all times was monitored by military intelligence. At the scene the troops found the individual identified as Nelson Lerma Giraldo, known by the alias of Mocho Leiber, said to be the main ringleader of the GAO-r E-1 or Carolina Ramírez, and coordinator of the GAO-r e-62, along with other heavily armed individuals, who would be planning and organizing terrorist operations against civilians and military units.
At that moment and as a result of the operation maneuver and the infiltration, the GAO was taken by surprise by the troops, so a combat begins, where the death in development of military operations of Alias Mocho Leiber is achieved.

Alias Mocho Leiber, according to the judicial authorities, would have an extensive criminal record, given that he would have been more than 22 years in the criminal and narcoterrorist structures. This individual would have entered as a guerrilla of the front 40 of the former Farc; for the year 2016 he is named deputy director of the GAO E-1; by the year 2020, he manages to be part of the GAO-R Central staff, taking the direction of this structure in the Putumayo, and of the Mecaya Rivers, in the municipality of Puerto Guzmán. He coordinated the trafficking of coca paste, cocaine hydrochloride, extortion to ranchers, traders, drivers and peasants, forced recruitment of minors. In the same way, he would be responsible for murders of social leaders and ex-combatants of the Farc. It is noteworthy that this individual had a warrant of arrest in force.
This result is one of the more decisive blows to terrorists structures, who commit crimes in the colombian Amazon, as it contributes to mitigate the threats of organized armed groups to civilians, disrupting the command-and-control and weakening the subsystem resources of the illegal activities, collection of money from extortions, terrorist operations against the Military Forces and strategic assets of the region, and, in turn, it reduces the threats against social leaders and reintegration of former combatants.
The war material was put into custody of the authorities for the initiation of the corresponding judicial process.
