With the purpose of strengthening the activity of the State and working to increase access to quality health services in rural areas, the Colombian Aerospace Force, through the No. 5 Air Combat Command, arrived in Nazareth village in the municipality of El Retiro to support a Humanitarian Medical Assistance Activity.
The main objective of the event was to work to provide medical assistance to the most vulnerable communities in the region, especially to inhabitants of remote sectors who face difficulties in accessing specialized services.
During the activity, a multidisciplinary team of health professionals assisted more than 122 people in various medical specialties, including General Medicine, Homeopathic Medicine, Dentistry, Pediatrics, Orthopedics and Gynecology, in the same way consultations in visual health, legal consultations and medication distribution.
This work was possible thanks to the collaboration and coordination conducted by various institutions and organizations such as the Mayor's Office of El Retiro, the Municipal Health Secretariat, the SOMER Foundation, the Cooperative University of Colombia, PROCAPS, Laproff Laboratories and the invaluable support of the Professional Officers of the Colombian Aerospace Force Reserve, Colombian National Army with its Mechanized Cavalry Group Juan del Corral and the National Police with the office for Childhood and Adolescence.
The activity underlines the commitment of the participating institutions to the well-being of the most vulnerable communities and reinforces the State's activity in hard-to-reach territories, working together to provide support for the needs of rural communities and improve their quality of life through inter-institutional operations.
