The Attorney General's Office, in coordination with the Colombian Navy, made the arrest of an individual who, through the impersonation of the identity of a crewman of the Naval Institution, intended to defraud a merchant of the municipality of Chaguani – Cundinamarca, with the conclusion of a false contract for the purchase of merchandise valued at 150 million pesos, in the name of the ARC Bogotá Naval Base.
The operation was possible thanks to the timely denunciation that the principal of the school, who was intended to be used as an intermediary for the receipt of the goods, submitted to the Directorate for the Supervision of Ethics, Legality and Transparency – DELTA of the Navy of Colombia. In the aforementioned denunciation, the principal reported that she was contacted by an individual to coordinate the reception of the merchandise that was given to the School by the merchant, on behalf of the Naval Institution.
Immediately, the Colombian Navy, assisting the anti-corruption protocols, established contact with the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) of the Attorney General's Office, who proceeded to find the alleged fraudster, arresting him at the time he was transporting the merchandise acquired through this false contract.
