Through the Colombian Air Force Air Defense System, last weekend, an aircraft that was moving through the Caribbean airspace from South America heading north was identified. It was reported to the Air Combat Command No. 3 , from where a surveillance platform took off, to carry out the reconnaissance of the aircraft and prevent its access to Colombian airspace.
For this reason, an alert was given to authorities in the Caribbean countries through which the aircraft may fly. It was eventually forced to land at Aruba Airport, due to fuel problems, where the local police arrived at the point and captured the two pilots who wore masks on board a jet type aircraft.
The personnel of the Command and Control Center of the Colombian Air Force will continue to monitor the national air space 24 hours, 7 days a week, in order to guarantee the sovereignty and carry out combined work with other countries that can react to any irregularity.
