
More than 48 pilots of the Colombian Navy and the Colombian Air Force receive training and instruction in survival techniques and underwater cabin escape, by the Naval Aviation School, in the modalities of HUET and DITCHING.
In order to fulfill the constitutional mission of safeguarding human life at sea, the Colombian Navy through the Naval Aviation School strengthens the training of more than 48 pilots of the Colombian Navy and the Colombian Air Force who from March 14 to 21 will carry out Operation Poseidon 2023, a joint exercise in open waters that will train fixed-wing and rotary-wing crews in the simulation of rescues of civilian personnel and companionship in case of suffering an air accident at sea.
As part of the Phase I of Operation Poseidon 2023, which is being held from March 14 to 16 in Barranquilla, the Naval Aviation School of the Colombian Navy is providing training in survival techniques and underwater helicopter cockpit escape, in the modalities of HUET (helicopter) and DITCHING (fixed wing), to lead crews to generate resources and timely reaction skills under deteriorated weather conditions.
In the Phase II of Operation Poseidon 2023 that will be held from March 19 to 21 at the Navy Infantry Training Base in Coveñas- Sucre, the Caribbean Naval Air Group is linked to this joint exercise, with the fixed-wing crews by means of the maritime police officer CN-235, where rescue training will be carried out at a distance of one mile 200 meters in case of an accident or shipwreck, target detection, parachuting and cargo launching "RAMPAC” and with the helicopter crews by means of the BELL 412 aircraft crane extraction, helocast and other maneuvers related to the rescue of human lives at sea.
